About this role
As IT Buyer, your main focus is to optimize costs, find savings and protect group interests.
Your typical working day will have plenty of interaction directly with the IT team. You’ll be leaning on their expertise to create a portfolio of IT contracts and suppliers covering multiple IT domains and IT sub categoriesinteractions. You will be supporting the IT domain owner’s strategies with all sourcing and procurement activities.
This role needs someone with a strong sourcing and procurement background, but also solid communication skills. You’ll be working closely with people across a range of internal functions, from IT Finance, Accounting, Legal, IT domain owners and IT senior managers. You’ll need to be a relationship builder, able to understand key requirements and ask questions. You’ll identify and propose solutions to challenges, and explain your reasoning to all stakeholders.
You’ll ensure compliance with company policies at all times of course, and keep detailed procedures through your accurate record-keeping.
Externally you’ll be working with IT suppliers, managing contracts and commitments. You’ll have a keen eye on the detail, achieving timely delivery of goods and services that fulfill business needs, within budget.
Other duties fall into these main categories:
Sourcing and Procurement Management – analyzing requirements, sourcing and RFP management, market analysis; leading commercial negotiation, challenging proposals and negotiating best commercial terms; managing and monitoring the PO process flow.
Contract and Vendor Management – data management (contacts, contractual data); vendor relationship management, evaluating performance.
Compliance and Quality – applying all existing policies, ensuring involvement of legal advisors for contractual activities; ensuring all IT needs are covered by a PO, and all POs are supported by a contract, ensuring no delays to contract renewals.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2-4 years of procurement/contract management experience;
- Bachelor degree preferred;
- Energy industry experience preferred;
- Strong Sourcing and Procurement background.
- Able to handle fast-paced environments and changing situations, always looking ahead proactively;
- Team-oriented, with excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Confident working between and within teams to get the information you need.
