We are hiring a Tax Manager for our client, a successful pharmaceutical company. This is a permanent position with a growing company.

This individual will be an important talent for the Tax team and will partner with the local entities to effectively manage the group's tax risks and respond to tax issues. This position requires leadership and abilities to identify potential tax risks on strategies raised by stakeholders and to provide sound advice required. The ideal candidate will have good communication, ability to see and relay risks and strong time-management skills.

About this role


  • Collaborating with the business leaders to gather information on tax issues related to theoperations;
  • Ensuring that stakeholders are aware of taxation projects and their impact and risk, that appropriate level of approval is obtained prior to moving forward;
  • Develop tax strategies and structuring proposals for global investment portfolios including publicsecurities, private equity and direct assets;
  • Conduct tax research on significant tax positions in order to properly manage the related tax risks;
  • Coordinate tax audits with authorities;
  • Support Canadian operations in determining significant tax impacts on projects contemplated, both in Canada and abroad;
  • Provide tax support for acquisitions and restructurings;
  • Resource for overall tax compliance (e.g. tax provision, tax returns);
  • Keep track of changes to existing tax laws and regulations;
  • Provide management and technical leadership on tax matters;

About you


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Accounting combined with a CPA designation;
  • A Master’s Degree in Tax or completion of the CICA In-depth tax course is an asset;
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in tax with demonstrated experience with tax planning andinternational tax;
  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach as well as the ability to consider the big picturesimultaneously;
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across the business, driving inclusivity and rallying the right people to facilitate strong decision-making.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to influence others;
  • Autonomous, responsible and resourceful individual - this is an individual contributor position;
  • Must be able to manage and follow all tax files in progress with diligence and professionalism;
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision with a team of professionals;
  • Collaborative mindset; driven towards solutions.
