About this role
As the Maintenance Manager, you’re responsible for the overall management of the maintenance of the plant. Specifically a maintenance focus on mechanical, electrical and ground functions. You’ll continually identify areas of improve maintenance, and you’ll be able to develop a plan of action to correct issues. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the successful operations of the plant.
In collaboration with Plant Manager, you’ll be leading shutdown planning, reviewing all pending inspections prior to shut down. You will be conducting daily meetings with operations and maintenance team during shutdown periods.

Your duties fall broadly into four categories:
Managing: Providing strategic and operational direction and decision making to the maintenance staff in support of company goals. Maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation. Managing maintenance labor and expense to meet plant budget.
Tracking: Establishing and managing a computerized maintenance management system for tracking orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment. Driving effectiveness of the storeroom and spare parts inventory to ensure that needed parts are available. Maintaining the plant utilities and consumables.
Productivity: Ensuring maximum uptime of all equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance. Consistent with Preventive Maintenance Program, optimizing warehouse inventory stocking levels to ensure spares are available and excess parts inventory minimized.
Compliance: Following all federal, state and corporate Safety, Environmental and Quality standards and leading industry practices. Driving implementation and continuous improvement to assure the quality of the products produced.
In this role you will use your leadership and mentoring skills. Inspired by your behaviors, your team will be effective, professional, and highly regarded. You will lead your team and others to drive continuous improvement for all plant activity. Your team is not the only group that you will interact with at the plant. You’ll also work with the cross-functional leadership team to prioritize plant needs. Ensuring that the weekly maintenance scheduled work is planned and manage day-to-day maintenance support.
In your role you will be both training and recruiting a high-quality, high-performing and diverse workforce. You’ll be teaching maintenance and engineering employees to create them to collaborative and engaged teams.
- 5+ years in maintenance or engineering leadership role;
- 10+ years of progressive maintenance experience in refinery, chemical, petrochemical or industrial facility preferred;
- Process Engineering experience preferred.

- Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management and Continuous Improvement methods;
- Knowledge of ISO 14000 and ISO 9001 is preferred.
